_{~Enymy has an interesting gallery really. I am a huge comic book fan, and he takes his personal style and is able to convey the comic book characters as they should. He does not focus just on comic book characters though, which is good as well. It shows his diversity.}

St. Patrick’s Day
Well, technically, it is March 1^st now, so that means it is time to update my avatar for the first holiday. So, if you do not see the new avatar, then you need to clean out your catche or something, because it should be up by now (or will be once this journal goes live and I upload it afterwards).

The new avatar is in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day. While I personally am not a large celebrator of the holiday, it is celebrated by many that I know, and thus I figured this would be a good first holiday update.

If you don’t know what the little Chibi-Gibby is doing, he is dressed in green for the holiday; the typical looking leprechaun outfit, and he has a cup of rum, which is being thrust back and forth with the rum spilling out the sides.

This particular avatar I finished quite a while ago, but held of from posting it to deviantART till now for the holiday. I think that is what I will do about the holiday avatars from now on; wait till the holiday it is depicting is within range, then submit it to deviantART.

Journal
As you can most likely tell, I had gotten back into using images in my journal for headers. I choose specifically not to use CSS in that I do not understand CSS at all and do not want to bother trying to code something. I did take a look through the Journal CSS section here on deviantART, but I really did not find anything that appealed to me. I want something simple, something easy to the eye (that is not black with white text) and has the capability to add or take a way headings like I do from journal to journal. So, I went with just simple images that I will be using.

You probably noticed that I brought back some of the different sections that I use to have; namely, Thumb Feature, Deviant Feature, Quote, Journal, and a revamped section that I call Art History (along with new sections like W.I.P. and Question).

Basically, the sections are like they were before:

Thumb Feature: features three (3) thumbs that I liked
Deviant Feature: features one (1) deviant and three (3) thumbs that I liked from his / her gallery (with a small blurb about him / her)
Quote: random quote that I like
Journal: the main discussion for that journal
Art History: this section will now feature an image from history with a short blurb about it
W.I.P.: a screenshot of my current Work in Progress and small paragraph about it
Question: a question I will ask the readers

For now, those are the basic sections, and they will not always be in every journal. The main ones that will be around are: Journal, Thumb Feature, and Question. The rest will be used when I have the time to add them and / or if I have something to put in the section at time of my journal update.

Well, I do not really have much else to say right now. I do have quite a few request for avatars now, so I will be working on them over the weekend. Next week is going to be quite nice for me. I do not have classes for two days due to the annual Portfolio Review that the art department does each year. The teachers get together and review the students portfolios, giving critiques on what they liked / did not like, and all art classes are canceled during that time. That will give me some time to work on personal stuff and to get caught back up in a few of my other classes.

Like I said previously, I am working on a lizard avatar that will go along with the monkey one. I have the lizard drawn and colored, I have the basic movements fixed as well (eyes blinking, the tongue movable), but beyond that I do not know what to make the lizard do. That is what I am going to be working on this weekend. If you have any ideas, let me hear them. That could help me greatly.

When / if you eat breakfast, what kind of food do you like the best?

I personally enjoy pancakes. I know they are not the most healthy of foods to eat, but I still enjoy them greatly. They were a favorite of mine when I was growing up; I use to eat them all the time. Now days, I do not get them as often, and when I do, I splurge and eat way too many.

When was art considered art? Two (2) million years ago, were the cave paintings done for arts sake or for something more? It is a common belief (which I hold too as well) that during the Old Stone Age (the oldest art movement which is also known as the Paleolithic period) was not done for arts sake. Each image was done for a reason. That reason is the unknown factor. It could be that they were done for story telling, or to keep record. Whatever the reason, these paintings have been preserved, and are now considered some of the oldest forms of art remaining.
