I had the title in my head for a long time now, but I could never figure out how to make this Angel. From what I know, the Guardian Angel is the one that watches over you, protecting you from temptations and tribulations. However, as most of us know, we still go through temptations and tribulations all the time, so I wanted to have the Angel look like it were wounded, as if it just came out of a battle against a tribulation or something.

For those that may not know, I made an image a while ago entitled Dancing Spirits. If you take a close look at the style used in that and this Angel style, you will see the similarities in the two. I liked how Dancing Spirits came out, and have wanted to use it again in another image, but never found a way to do that, until now that is.

Provoking, taunting, slandering, they yell and scream, trying to get him to lower his defenses. They gleam at him with piercing gazes, showing no fear of what he can dish out, yet he budges not, not willing to allow one step to be taken in retreat. He is surrounded, no were to run. He plunges forward, knowing well that he would sustain some great turmoil in the outcome of this battle; but he also knows that his own pain is necessary in order for the one he watches to be safe.
